As well as, failure in providing enough amount of nutrients to meet fetal demand can lead to fetal malnutrition. Your diet is their one and only source of nutrition. Breastmilk is the best nutrition for infants. The nutrients present in the breastmilk come from the diet of the mother or from her nutrient reserves. Breastmilk has a constant composition and is rarely affected by the diet of the mother. The fat content of the breastmilk vary but the carbohydrate, protein, fat, calcium and iron contents do not change much, even if the mother is short of these in her diet.
